Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information may be processed when you visit The Canadian. Last updated September 28, 2026.

Information we process

The site may process basic technical information needed to deliver pages securely and reliably, such as your browser type, requested pages, approximate location, and error or performance data.

We do not currently offer reader accounts, paid subscriptions, comments, or a newsletter sign-up. If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, inquiry category, and message you provide so the newsroom can review and respond.

Preferences and third-party media

Your light or dark appearance choice is stored on your device. Podcast playback requests audio and artwork from RSS.com. Links to Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and source publications take you to services governed by their own privacy policies and cookie practices.

Retention and security

Technical records are retained only as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, and aggregate site measurement. Contact messages are stored privately for newsroom follow-up, record-keeping, and abuse prevention, then removed when they are no longer needed for those purposes.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We limit public access to submitted messages and use operational safeguards appropriate to the information collected.

Your choices

You can clear the saved appearance preference through your browser, block optional browser storage, and choose not to play externally hosted audio or follow third-party links. You may use the contact form to ask about a message you submitted.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy as the website adds services. The revision date above will change when the policy changes. A verified privacy contact will be published on the Contact page when available.
