Feist and The Tragically Hip enter Canada's Songwriters Hall of Fame

A Massey Hall gala celebrated landmark Canadian catalogues with performances by Finneas, City and Colour, and others.

Feist and Kingston rock band The Tragically Hip were inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame at a gala at Massey Hall in Toronto. Loverboy's Mike Reno and Paul Dean and singer-songwriter Roch Voisine were also inducted.

Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and producer Finneas performed and helped induct Feist. Our Lady Peace and City and Colour interpreted songs by The Tragically Hip, while filmmaker Jay Baruchel presented the band's induction.

George Stroumboulopoulos and Marie-Mai hosted the event, which also featured Amanda Marshall, Allison Russell, and Charlotte Cornfield. The ceremony was made available through Amazon Music's Twitch channel and Prime Video Canada.

Together, the inductees reflect several eras and regions of Canadian songwriting. The evening focused not only on familiar recordings, but on the craft and cultural memory carried by songs across generations.
